Step 1:
Please view the following table to see what competition results are required for each riding level.
Step 2:
Obtain a written endorsement from a Coach Educator stating the level at which you are entering our system. The CE is required to complete the EA Coach Educator Endorsement form which from 1 September 2025 will be found via your EA account.
Collect the required competition results and purchase the relevant EA riding resource book via the Skills Recognition Resource Order Form from 1 September 2025 via your EA account..
Note:
- Candidates can be considered for Skills Recognition for the Horse Management and Riding Components ONLY. All Candidates must undertake the Coaching Module at the level they are working towards. No candidate can use Recognised Prior Learning for the coaching element of the qualification.
- WEG and Olympic athletes can be accelerated to Level 2 Horse Management and Level 2 Riding/Personal Skills. However, you cannot be accelerated to commence Level 2 Coaching. You must be assessed as competent at Introductory and Level 1 before progressing through the pathway.
Note: You must submit the written endorsement from a Coach Educator for the level you are purchasing with your Resource Order Form from 1 September 2025 via your EA account . You must also be a current EA Member, and at least 18 years old. You can only use the Skills Recognition Order Form once per discipline. You will need to purchase the second discipline at the normal rates.
Step 3:
- Upload your results from 1 September 2025 via your EA account.
- Work with your Coach Educator who will assess you on the gap requirements which are not proven by competition results- for example lunging.
- All assessments must be uploaded from 1 September 2025 via your EA account for approval.
Step 4:
If you are looking to register as an EA Coach once all assessments have been approved, you will need to make sure all the below documents are current and uploaded to your EA Profile.

- Copy of current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011)
- Copy of current Working with Children Check/Blue Card
- Copy of Sport Integrity 2025 Annual Coaches Update https://elearning.sportintegrity.gov.au/ )
- Copy of Sport Australia Community Coaching Essential Skills Certificate please NOTE this must be the full course of 7 Modules which can be completed as one course or 7 individual courses (free to complete online: https://learning.equestrian.org.au/login/)
- Copy of EA’s Concussion Course Certificate (free to complete online: https://learning.equestrian.org.au/login/ )
- Copy of Sport Integrity Anti-Doping Fundamentals Certificate (free to complete online: https://elearning.sportintegrity.gov.au/ )
- Copy of Sport Integrity Safeguarding Children and Young People in Sport Certificate (free to complete online: https://elearning.sportintegrity.gov.au/ )
