Dream outing for Langbecker in Gympie round of Young Rider Selection Series

Brooke Langbecker had a dream outing at the third round of the 2016 Young Rider Selection Series, winning the class at the Gympie Show and filling a further three of the next four placings.

The Young Rider Selection Series allows riders to compete with more than one horse but only one horse may earn points for the overall leaderboard. Fortunately for Langbecker it was her nominated horse Flowervale Diamond which finished on top of the leaderboard for this horse's second consecutive Young Rider Series round win.

Six of the 10 combinations produced two clear jumping rounds so time proved to be decisive in deciding the ultimate placings. Riding Flowevale Diamond, Langbecker rode to victory in a second round time of 46.10. Her second horse Riverside Freedom was exactly one second slower stopping the clock in 47.10.

Jasmin Davidson spolit Langbecker’s perfect streak, producing the third fastest round with her horse Finally, finishing in a time of 49.07. Davidson now occupies the top two positions on the overall leaderboard after three rounds with Langbecker third.

Riders now earn a short break before the Series resumes at the Geraldton Jumping Weekend in Western Australia from 8-10 July.
