FEI President Visits Toowoomba as Brisbane 2032 Legacy Plans Take Shape

In an exciting step toward the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, FEI President Mr Ingmar De Vos made his first official visit to the Toowoomba Showgrounds today. Hosted by The Royal Agricultural Society of Queensland, the visit included a high-level delegation from Brisbane 2032, Games Infrastructure Queensland, and the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

The site inspection marks a significant moment for the future of equestrian sport in Australia, as Toowoomba is set to become a key legacy venue following the Games.

Chair of Equestrian Australia, Zac Miles, was on hand for the visit and highlighted the importance of the occasion: “I was delighted that the FEI and the IOC could attend and start planning for what will be a very exciting time for equestrian sports in Australia, and particularly for Queensland,” said Mr Miles. “It is also a welcome development that Brisbane 2032 will be delivering a legacy site and infrastructure in Toowoomba following the Games.”

The visit signals a strong commitment to ensuring that the Games leave lasting benefits for the equestrian community and regional Queensland. As discussions continue, Toowoomba is shaping up as a potential hub for high-quality equestrian facilities that will serve both Olympic competition and future generations of riders across the country.

Equestrian Australia looks forward to working closely with all stakeholders to ensure the best outcomes for the sport, athletes, and broader community as the road to Brisbane 2032 continues.
