Equestrian Australia’s Jumping Selection Panel has announced the National High Performance Squads for Jumping.

Generation Next

Equestrian Australia High Performance is currently reviewing the Generation Next Squad structure in the High Performance Squads for Jumping.

To ensure an effective transition upon completion of a review, Generation Next will be subdivided into two groups in the interim.

Generation Next (Rio):

Riders identified as potential team members for Rio 2016. For the avoidance of doubt, these riders will be included in “The Shadow Team”. These riders have indicated a formal intention to campaign for Rio nomination.

Generation Next (Tokyo):

In 2015, the High Performance Generation Next Squad included riders 18 – 30 years of age. This program was designed as predominately a rider development program. These riders are currently undertaking an existing program and therefore will remain in Generation Next (Tokyo) for the time being. The criteria for this squad is currently being reviewed.

The intent of Generation Next in all disciplines is to identify riders and/or combinations to progress to the Green Squad within the next Olympic Cycle.

Equestrian Australia High Performance apologises for any confusion and misunderstanding whilst endeavouring to execute the new squad structure. It is important however to capture riders and/or combinations within “The Shadow Team” in accordance with the 2016 AOC Team Nomination Criteria.
