Gow Gates Club of the Year

This award is given to an equestrian club that has achieved a high standard of performance in governance, member development and event management.

Thoroughbred Riding Club

The club was founded in 2011 to support and encourage the retraining of off the track Thoroughbreds in a systematic and positive environment.

The club President, Lisa Brown explains "Australia has the highest per capital ownership of Thoroughbred horses in the world and is the birthplace of 17% of the world’s Thoroughbred foals. There is a real need for managing this equine resource humanely and sustainably."

The Thoroughbred Riding Club caters to riders of all levels and abilities and encourages a range of disciplines for their members. The club not only provides riding and training for members but also conducts regular seminars and offers guest speakers to present on topics such as equine welfare, bush fire preparation, saddle fitting and nutrition.
