New Chair for Equestrian Australia Jumping Committee

John Vallance has been elected as the new Chair of the Equestrian Australia Jumping Committee.

Vallance, who has previously served as Chair of the Equestrian Australia Jumping Committee, replaces Gavin Chester after a two-year term.

Chester will remain on what is now a skills-based committee (as per Endurance, Driving, Dressage and Vaulting disciplines). He will also take a position on the World Cup Jumping Committee.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank the outgoing committee for their dedication,” Gavin said.

“They were a forward-thinking committee who worked hard for the best interest of the sport and I am pleased to still hold a place on the new skills based committee and welcome John back to the committee as Chair.”

“The new skills based committee is heading in the right direction and I look forward to continuing to grow the sport of Jumping in Australia,” he said.

John Vallance, Australia’s only FEI 4* course builder and Technical Delegate, said he is honoured to take the role as Chair of the Equestrian Australia Jumping Committee.

“The committee comprises members who are highly involved with the sport at all levels and have an impressive understanding of the requirements for the ongoing development of the sport,” John said.

“At its first meeting, the new committee has already established a sound working relationship with the Equestrian Australia office staff and aims to further improve the communication with stakeholders to keep them involved and informed.”

“A prime objective of the committee is to continue to work with all State Branches as well as the High-Performance Panel and the World Cup Committee to further develop the sport at all levels.
