Aussie Team finishes 9th at Linz Nations Cup

The Australian team of Chris Chugg (Cera Cassiago), Merrick Ubank* (Alantinus), Steven Hill (Yalambi’s Bellini Star) and James Paterson-Robinson (Amarillo) has finished ninth in the Linz round of the Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup overnight.

The team narrowly missed progressing to the second round, finishing with a combined 16 penalties in round one. Olympian James Paterson-Robinson and his horse Amarillo produced a clear jumping round and were the best performing combination of the team.

The Linz Nations Cup is an important event for Jumping riders vying for team selection for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

The second of three nominated Nations Cup events is Odense (DEN) from 19-22 May. The team that represents Australia at this event will be selected from the list of identified combinations.  

Results

*Merrick Ubank and Alantinus came into the team to replace Phillip Lever and Comme Il Faut who were not available for the event.
