2013: Bella meets her foal. 2017 : they make their debut presentation at the Festival of Dressage

Isabella Wilkinson-McIntyre, inaugural Remi Stud Scholarship winner

The Remi Stud Young Rider Scholarship is an annual scholarship and is awarded to a very deserving Young Rider who has the talent and dedication in either Dressage or Eventing but needs financial assistance to purchase a horse of their dreams. Every year the dream comes true for one lucky young rider as the scholarship includes the ownership of a purpose bred weanling foal by one of the best performed Hanoverian stallions in Australia.

The 2013 scholarship's inaugural winner, Isabella Wilkinson-McIntyre, has proved to be a very worthy Ambassador, and during the past year has, in turn, supported other young riders through her dedication and encouragement, so that they can believe it is possible to attain their dreams too. Here, she shares where she is up to with her horse Remi Livingstone S.

"Doc has just come back into work in the last couple of months after his rest after been broken in. He is progressing amazingly well (especially for his size, seeing he is over 17.2hh!) and recently had his first outing at the Festival of Dressage in Brisbane, representing Lauries As in the stallion parade. Although that electric environment was probably not the most ideal situation to put Doc in being his first time out under saddle, he handled himself like an absolute gentleman and didn't out a foot wrong! He went around as though he was a professional.

Due to his size and the fact that he is still high behind, we have decided not to rush Doc's training and rather allow him to grow into himself a little more before we start pushing him. In saying this, I am hoping to take him out to a few small competitions in the next couple of months to grow his competition experience.

I can't thank everyone enough for this incredible opportunity to work with a young horse as talented and kind-hearted as Doc. It truly has been a dream come true and I cherish opportunities we have had so far, even knowing our journey has only just begun!"
