Gabi Kuna Shows Her Flaire in the Horsepower Feed & Supplements Gold Tour, Round Two

German course designer Klaus-Wilhelm Holle set a challenging 1.50m track today for competitors in the second round of the Horsepower Feed & Supplements Gold Tour at Aquis Champions Tour in Queensland.

Five combinations jumped clear in the first round but it was the second which saw tensions raised. Gabbi Kuna and the lovely chestnut mare Flaire set a cracking pace and clean round laying down a challenge for the remaining combinations. Ultimately, Kuna and Flaire proved unbeatable and took top honours in the class.

“Today’s class was a tough competition not many clear rounds. I was happy to be first out to put a clean on the board, and finish with the double clear round to take the win. Today’s track has set the standard for what’s to come.” said Kuna of her win.

Elliott Reeves riding Aveden Indigo finished in 2nd place, Jamie Kermond and Yandoo Oaks Constellation in 3rd, followed by Jess Brown and Casco in 4th with Melissa Blair and Zidora rounding out the top five.

Today’s competition also incorporated the Senior Corporate Teams challenge. The win went to Team Horsepower with a total of 8 penalties, Prydes EasiFeeds finished in 2nd place on 16 penalties with 3rd going to Chatham Park on 16 penalties - the competition was so close that the teams were split by time in the second round!

Tomorrow marks a well earned rest day for the top 30 horses that have qualified for the Gold Grand Prix which will take place on Sunday seeing some of Australia's best riders vying for the $45,000 that will be awarded to the class winner.
