World Cup Jumping returned to the Caboolture Show Society indoor arena for the first time in three years.

Thanks to John Fahey, Bob Major, Ken Jensen,
Caboolture Show Society and their many wonderful helpers who were responsible for running a very well organised weekend of Jumping.

Twenty four horses started in the World Cup class.  Sue Ryan of South Australia built a flowing track of 1.45m with some technical lines.  It proved a difficult course indoors over the Sunshine Coast Club equipment. To add to the pressure there was a large crowd looking on.

Clem Smith’s Benaloo Dark Ages jumped the only clear round in the first round.  Eleven horses returned for the jump off with one on zero, five horses sitting on four faults and a further five on eight faults.  It was a long jump off, which saw many not having the rounds they wished for.

Adam Mellers and Animate got things going when they posted the first clear in the jump off with a very smart time of 54.94.  Amy Graham’s Transatlantic was quick to respond with an even faster clear round in 54.89.  This certainly put pressure on Clem Smith who opted to try for a quieter clear round with Dark Ages but unfortunately having a four faults at the second last fence.  So the fourth Pacific League World Cup qualifying round of the 2008 season went to South Australian Amy Graham and Transatlantic.  They also won the tri-series highest points for the three Queensland World Cup Rounds which saw them receive a Bates Jumping Saddle.
